Style:
The dominant style of the band is traditional hard-rock. In the same time, its music may contain elements of blues, rock’n’roll, heavy-metal, pop-rock, etc.
History
The band was created in November 2005. Although, its origins are older and root in the late 80’s when Vasile and Radu met. Shortly they have discovered common interests, especially as regards music (The Beatles, Queen, Ozzy Osbourne, Judas Priest, Van Halen, Guns N Roses, Iron Maiden, etc), and they became very good friends. Then were written the first songs for the future band VaRa, being sang on the stairways of the blocks of the Albisoara str. of Chisinau.
In 1993 – 2003 Vasile plays together with the local bands Factor and Edict, but the idea of a own project doesn’t leave him at any given moment.
This way, in the winter of 2005, after several passionate discussions, Vasile and Radu decide to found their own rock band. Also then appears the name for the band. Initially, the name of the band was related only to the first leters of the names of the two founders. In time, though, it started meaning warm and joyful atmosphere of the band.
In the fall of 2005, Vasile invites Eduard Momot (ex-Viitorul, O-Chad, Amalgama, Raketobil, Karfagen) to the new project VaRa as drummer. The latter recommended Damian as bass-guitar player, which, in his turn, proposed Ion as keyboards player of the band.
This way, in November 2005 begin the first rehearsals of the VaRa band, while songs are written one after another.
In the summer of 2007 begins the work on the first CD and in May 2008 it sees the light of the day. The album is a demo-product and contains 10 songs, some of them being played on local radio.
In November 2009 Eduard leaves the band, being replaced by the young and lively Adrian Capbatut. Together with the latter, in March 2010, the band records four new songs, two of them together with the well-known local singer Geta Burlacu.
From the moment of its creation and up until present days the members of VaRa could be seen and heard on quite a few occasions. Among these could be mentioned: The rock festival “Rock Marathon” (2006), The Annual Charity Fair “Winter Charity Bazaar” (2007), “The Human Rights Gala” (2008), “Open Air Moldexpo Urban Fest” (2009), “Open Air against Torture (2009)” and others.
